FATAL ACCIDENT AT DOWNS Filly Lady Evelyn Killed and Exer ¬ cise Boy Leroy Cecil Badly Injured in Crash LOUISVILLE Ky May 11 Leroy Lee Cecil exercise boy of New Orleans suf ¬ fered a concussion bruises and other more minor injuries and the threeyearold filly Lady Evelyn was injured fatally in an acci ¬ dent at Churchill Downs here this morning George Stinson driver of a tractor into which the filly crashed while working had a miraculous escape escapeSent Sent to the track after it had been closed for training and was being prepared for the afternoons racing Lady Evelyn was run ¬ ning her fastest when Cecil drove her up on the tractor which was dragging a harrow Cecil was thrown high into the air landing at an angle his head and right shoulder be ¬ ing groundThe the first to strike the ground The filly owned by J G Brown was so badly injured that she died almost instantly The force of the impact catapaulted her body over the tractor tractorCecil Cecil was removed to Norton infirmary where early examinations failed to disclose more than cuts and bruises Later his head was found to be badly bruised in ¬ ternally
