DIAN EARNS ANOTHER PURSE Hernandez Colorbearer Best in Bain bridge Feature Rain Falls Throughout Day CLEVELAND Ohio June 7 After dis ¬ posing of Bob Up while on the far turn B Herriandez1 Dian enjoyed a comfortable lead all through the stretch in the sixth and fea ¬ tured race at Bainbridge Park this after ¬ noon Bob Up continued to show the way to the others securing the second award with ease while Sporting Maudie easily raced into third place during the run home homeFollowing Following the running the winning owner B Hernandez was presented with a bridle and jockey L Turner received a whip both awards being made by Lita Grey Chaplin after whom the race was named The well known actress witnessed the race from the stewards stand standRain Rain fell during most of the day The weather was cold the track muddy and the attendance practically confined to the reg ¬ ulars ularsJudge Judge Dixon and Brown Polly raced closely lapped contesting the leadership practically throughout in the initial dash and Judge Dixon proved the gamer during the final test From a slow beginning Hey Flirt came from far back to eventually head Pent House for third in the last few yards yardsJockey Jockey D Edwards sent Avail into the lead shortly after the start came for the second race never to be headed thereafter The lad was hard at work on his mount all the last hundred yards however to with ¬ stand a bold challenge from Blake which came from far back in the stretch Brizette only headed Charlie in the last few yards for third thirdTaking Taking command at once Zaidee was never threatened at any stage of the third race and was in hand as the wire was passed Coming from far back in the stretch Guinea Lady raced past the tiring Ingress nearing the end to gain the second award rather handily handilyAt At no stage of the fourth race was Parties even threatened winning by a big margin Barkis and Night Edition were always in closest pursuit of the winner and Night Edition had the most in reserve when the stretch test came gaining the second award awardL L De Latours Shoteur shook off Vonnie when straightened out for the run home in the fifth race and drew away thereafter to win with much to spare Vonnie easily re ¬ tained second place but Toltec barely lasted to save the third portion of the purse from Beetle
