OMAHA RANKS HIGH HIGHAMONG AMONG DERBY WINNERS Omaha winner of the 1935 Kentucky Derby is entitled to rank with the best of the great horses of that famous race He was the champion threeyearold of his year and though decisively beaten by Discovery in the Brooklyn Handicap won the Derby Preakness Dwyer Belmont and Classic Omaha was then sent abroad and as a fouryearold gained new laurels in England where he is considered one of the best stay ¬ ers ever shipped there from this country He won the Victor Wild Stakes and Queens Cup then finished second to the great mare Quashed in one of the most sensational fin ¬ ishes in the history of the famous Ascot Gold Cup It was intimated that the finish might have been decided a dead heat without any undue influence being used Omaha was kept in England and will be trained for another try in the Ascot Cup Rightly he belongs among the illustrious winners of the Ken ¬ tucky Derby whose names were Aristides Hindoo Leonatus Spokane Riley Halam Ben Brush Lieut Gibson Sir Huon Old Rosebud Regret Omar Khayyam Sir Sirx x Bar ¬ ton Exterminator Zev Gallant Fox Reigh Count Twenty Grand and Cavalcade
