FORD HIRES MORE MEN DETROIT Mich Oct 22 The Ford Mo ¬ tor Company now has approximately 54000 hourlypaid employes on the Rouge plant payroll as against 37000 two months ago The years low point was 34000 in May Additional employes are being recalled cur ¬ rently at the rate of about 1000 a week The Rouge plant is in volume production on its 1939 models with the exception of the final assembly plant which gradually is attaining volume
