ROBERTSON SERIOUSLY HURT Suffered Broken Ribs and Punctured PuncturedLung Lung in a Tumble From Boots BootsGreenock Greenock at Bay Meadows SAN MATEO Calif Oct 22 Jockey Jackie Robertson leading apprentice rider of the Bay Meadows meeting is fighting a battle for his life at Mills Memorial Hospi ¬ tal San Mateo Robertson who recently rode three winners in a single day was badly injured when he was thrown from the plater Boots Greenock Friday afternoon He suffered a punctured lung and several brok ¬ en ribs For a time his recovery seemed doubtful but attending physicians gave him a fiftyfifty chance to live this morning morningFollowing Following his removal from the track to the hospital Robertson was given two blood transfusions Two fellow reinsmen jockeys T Donoso and Martin L Fallen were the donors Donoso provided the blood for the first transfusion whlle Fallen one of the leading riders at the track after giving his blood returned to the course to ride four horses Jockey Freddie Scheihing was held respon ¬ sible for causing the jam in which Boots Greenock stumbled to unseat Robertson and was suspended for the remainder of the meeting Scheihing was aboard Early Hour the eventual winner Robertson is a young brother of the veteran jockey Bill Robert ¬ son who was suspended at Hollywood Park last summer reportedly for a ride on the same Boots Greenock
