PIMLICO TURF NOTES Haltermen were exceedingly busy during the twentyfive day term of racing at Laurel Park which closed on Saturday Thirty three claims were allowed with Tin Devil bringing the largest sum when he was ob ¬ tained by R C Thatcher for 4000 4000Jockeys Jockeys and horsemen were advised to call for checks which were sent here by tha Maryland State Fair Inc They are avail able at the racing secretarys office Johnny Longden Americas leading win ¬ ning rider was an arrival from New York The sensational apprentice Warren Yar berry also got in from Empire City which closed New Yorks 1938 racing season last Saturday SaturdayJohn John M Gaver trainer of the Greentree Stable brought Third Degree a Pimlico Futurity candidate on from Kentucky Ed ¬ die Arcaro the stables contract rider will arrive and accept mounts Tuesday TuesdayPost Post time opening day at Pimlico has been advanced to 100 p m so that the inaugural program carding the Pimlico Special and other events can be run off before darkness settles On Wednesday post time will revert back to 115 p m and this will obtain for the balance of the Maryland Jockey Club meeting meetingJockey Jockey Johnny Bejshak came from Empire City to join the riding colony here that Is one of the largest in years yearsJockey Jockey George Seabo returned from Nar ragansett Park where he rode Challedon to victory in the New England Futurity on Saturday Challedon who won the rich race is also being returned here to join the remainder of the W I Erann stable
