MR BLAZE OUTSTAYS DUNADE Finishes Neck Before Game Rival After Stirring Duel Ifarragansett Park Track Slow for Mondays MondaysSport Sport With Weather Conditions ConditionsCold Cold and Windy FAWTUCKET R I Oct 31 S J Norris Mr Blaze a heavily backed favorite sur ¬ vived a thrilling stretch duel with Fanfare Farms Dunade to beat the latter by a neck in the Meriden Handicap which featured a wintry day of sport at Narragansett Park The leading pair battled head and head for almost the entire distance well in front of the others and both were under a terrific drive from the eighth post home homeBomber Bomber which made a great rush at the leaders on the turn could not keep up in the final sixteenth of the race He was third beaten a length and a neck neckThe The track was slow for the sport with Mr Blaze finishing in 114 Cold and windy weather resulted in one of the lightest crowds of the meeting at the Pawtucket grounds groundsMr Mr Blaze and Dunade went out to fight the pace battle heads apart with Gay Balko right after them to the far turn There Gay Balko was done and as they made the turn Bomber charged up from the ruck looking as if he would win it all allDRAWS DRAWS AWAY AWAYAt At the eighth mark Mr Blaze and Dunade drew away slightly Neither showed any sign of quitting and first one head then the other showed in front Dunade got to the front by a small margin just past the six ¬ teenth post but Leishman cracked down with the whip and Mr Blaze made a final determined run and inched away awayBomber Bomber might be worth remembering next out His race was a promising one and he appeared ready for a winning effort In good company companyGay Gay Balko quit after a half mile The others In the pack of six showed little littleThe The redoubtable H Dynamite Kerr found a boy in Irving Anderson who could rate Dizzy Dame in the first race and the Distraction filly took the lead at the quarter post and drew away to score by two lengths In handy fashion At the end the victor was clear of Ben Listers Gala Star Mrs F C Dunns Highpool finishing third four lengths off the runnerup and a nose In ad ¬ vance of Happy Host The track was slow for the race which was runin 115 115Dizzy Dizzy Dame was rated off Happy Hosts pace to the turn moved to a narrow lead around the turn and began to gain with every stride from the eighth post home Happy Host once headed dropped back steadily Anderson rode Dizzy Dame home at the last Gansett meeting Since then she has lost consistently under other riders ridersSTARTLING STARTLING UPSET UPSETMrs Mrs J P Coopers All Agog scored a startling upset in the mile and seventy yards second event as little Maloney whipped her home a head in advance of H A Catalanos Mount Echo The winner paid 9550 and completed a Daily Double of 113020 Fred Haldys Unlawful was third two and a half lengths off the leaders Doris B was fourth The time was 149 All Agog went to the lead early but was outrun by Mount Echo down the back stretch The winner pressed Mount Echo closely down the stretch caught him again in the final fifty yards and was drawing off slightly at the end under good handling
