SPECIAL SHREVEPORT EVENTS Texas Cities to Be Honored With WithPrograms Programs First on the List ListAre Are Longview and Marshall SHREVEPORT La Nov 2 Gala prep ¬ arations are in the process of formation by directors of the State Jockey Club here whereby a number of Texas cities will be honored on days when large delegations of racing fans from various sections of the Lone Star State will be present to view the races racesLongview Longview and Marshall East Texas towns in the immediate vicinity of Shreveport are the first to be selected for the special days planned and will be staged on Thursday when the feature on this occasion will bear the names of these cities and several of their prominent citizens citizensOn On Saturday the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth two of the foremost racing centers of the state before adverse legislation cur ¬ tailed the thoroughbred sport will be hon ¬ ored The Dallas Handicap mile and seventy yards contest for threeyearolds and upward will serve as the principal race on the program and should attract some of the best routers quartered at the Caddo Parish track for the event eventThroughout Throughout the remainder of the State Jockey Clubs scheduled meeting of twenty five days the aforementioned method will prevail it was announced by directors of the local organization A splendid brand of racing has resulted during the first ten days of the current autumn session and with an abundance of horses available for competi ¬ tion the success of the meeting is virtually assured The consistency of the racers and the triumph of a good percentage of the choices has struck a popular chord with the fans of this section sectionMore More than sixty jockeys and apprentices have been registered and licensed and in ¬ cludes some of the reinsmen who were well up on the list of American riders at the present time
