EXPLAIN VALUE OF PURSES SHREVEPORT La Nov 2 Officials of the State Jockey Club operating the State Fair Grounds here stated that the extra races of 200 value Is by no means a purse reduction but was the request of owners and trainers who are desirous of running their charges In races where the claiming price is less than 600 This type of race in which the value of 200 is being offered is to horsemen who feel that their horsesare not capable of running successfully in the events of a higher claiming bracket in which the minimum purse is 300
