NO KENTUCKY CANDIDATE i LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 5.— For the first time in the long history of the Kentucky Derby, the field will be without a one-hundred per cent Kentucky candidate. Eight of the ten overnight candidates were foaled in the Blue Grass, but none is home-owned. The nearest to this distinction is Xalapa Clown, which will represent Mrs. Bessie Franzheim, step-daughter of the late Edward F. Simms, owner of Xalapa Farm. Of the nine owners represented, three are from New York, two from Texas and one each from Maryland, Louisiana, Illinois and Missouri. Technician was bred in Kansas and Challedon in Maryland.
