I | i j I DERBY DAY WAGERING j LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 5— The ,096,613 which was wagered at Churchill Downs on Derby Day in 1926 still stands as a worlds record mutuel turnover, and while this figure is likely to stand tomorrow, the track is prepared to handle a heavy volume of business through the betting wickets, which number more than any other track in the world. A total of 94,870 was wagered on the Derby alone in 1926. Last years Derby Day "Play" was ,511,-689, of which 28,742 was handled on the Derby itself, and if fair weather prevails these totals may be increased tomorrow.
