Senator Claude Pepper of Florida, and Mrs. Pepper, will be in another party arriving from Washington Saturday morning. Vincent Bendix, manufacturer of aviation instruments; Louis Boomfield, novelist; Ambrose OConnell, assistant postmaster-general; Sol Rosenblatt, motion-picture lawyer and formerly an NRA official; Charles Galloway, vice-president of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, are among other arriving from Washington Saturday morning. John H. Perry, widely-known Florida publisher, and Mrs. Perry, arrived from Jacksonville. J. R. "Sonny" Baker came in from Wilmington, Del., Friday. In another party from Washington is Harry Newman, Washington and New York publisher. Sam Look, of Castleton Farm, and Mrs. Look, brought over from Lexington a party of friends to witness the running of the Derby. John W. Marr, at whose Clarkland Farm stands Mate; Charlton Clay, another widely-known breeder, and A. B. Gay, motored from Lexington. Miss Elizabeth Daingerfield, best-known woman ireeder in this country and at whose Haylands Farm stands Morvich, will witness another Derby running. Formerly of Louisville but now making her home in Lexington, Mrs. Silas B. Mason, who purchased Head Play on the eve of the 1933 Kentucky Derby, entertained a big party in her clubhouse box. Robert Fairbairn came from New York for a visit to his Fairholm Farm, near Winchester, and from there he motored to Louisville for the classic. Noah H McClelland, owner of Crystal Springs Farm and formerly a Churchill Downs official, renewed acquaintances with numerous friends. Tolley Young, master of Creekview Farm, was another breeder to represent Bourbon County. Owner of one of the more prominent stables campaigning at Churchill Downs and a farm near Lexington, A. C. Ernst, of the Cleveland accounting firm of Ernst and Ernst, motored from the Forest City earlier in the week and viewed several days of the sport before the running of the Derby. Fred Baliff, of Los Angeles; M. H. Chambers, of Chicago; Alfred Frank, Salt Lake City, and Jacob and Emil Frank, of Cincinnati, are the Derby guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ivo Howard. Leo and Jose Swann and J. P. McPherson arrived today from their home in Chicago and will be the Derby guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bomar. Mr. and Mrs. George R. Wendling and daughters, Anne and Peggy Haldeman, of St. Louis, Mr. and Mrs. George Leib, of New York, and Mr. Quincy Thorndyke, of Boston, and Miss Peggv Wendling, of New York, are the guests of Mrs. John A. Haldeman. Mrs. James B. Brown is having as her guests at the Derby Mrs. Peter Nicholson, of Boston, John Legyard, of Boston, and Julius Krieger and Malcolm Simpson of Lpuisville. H. G. Kenagg, of Montclair, N. J., and Alfred Riley, of Summit, N. J., are Derby guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis. Miss Clara Wiel of Battle Creek, Mich., and Monroe Shakespeare of Kalamazoo, Mich., will view the Derby as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Rankin. Another prominent box party is to be the one entertained by Richard E. Wathen. It includes Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cooney of Syracuse, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. John H. Fiff of Cincinnati, and Mrs. Caroline Bedford Mengel of Louisville. Frazer LeBus, former member of the racing commission, and Mrs. LeBus will be the guests of Mrs. LeBus mother, Mrs. Lawrence Jones. Mrs. Margaret Proctor Smith will have as her guests Judge Harley E. Garling and Mrs. Garling, Mrs. Ernest C. Baird, Miss Margaret Dempsey, Eugene Garling and Samuel Spilkin, all of Lima, Ohio. J. W. Overstreet of Savannah, Ga.; Mr. and Mrs. Willard Baxley and Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Fuller of Davenport, Iowa, will be Derby guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. K. Hilton. Dr. T. W. Pennington and Mrs. Pennington ! will have as their guests Mrs. Edwin Wise of Houston and Mrs. A. A. Skelton and Mr. and Mrs. John Falconer of Dallas, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. James D. Bryant, Dr. J. T. Starks and Mrs. Starks, all of Chicago, arrived Friday and will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Haury. Miss Lois Don Clancy is entertaining at the Derby Miss Elizabeth Crotty of Houston, Texas; Miss Yvonne Johnstone of New York; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Wilcox of Washington, D. C; William Boyd of New York, and "Sandy" Osborne of New York. Mr. and Mrs. August B. Letellier arrived Friday morning from New Orleans. Several of the Letellier horses are racing here. Mrs. Seymour Weiss, wife of Colonel Weiss, Louisiana political leader; Miss Cleo Thornburn, and Mr. and Mrs. William Stevens came in Wednesday from the Crescent City and were joined by Herbert Schwartz, mercantile tycoon. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Farish were among the clubhouse guests at Churchill Downs. Mr. Farish is president of the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey. Fay Murray, president and part owner of the Nashville Southern Association baseball team, arrived from the Tennessee metropolis to view the running of the Kentucky Derby. , Memphis, always strongly represented at the Derby, had a big vanguard of its prominent townspeople in todays pre-class throng. The Tennessee citys Derby visitors will include Mr. and Mrs. Albert Woolridge, Frank Sullivan and Mrs. Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. George Sullivan, William Fry, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Lowenstein, Vance Alexander, Fred Ogle, E. W. Hale, Cliff Davis, Bill Dwyer, Will Fischer, George Landers, Bob Berryman, Fred Goldsmith, Joe Boyles, A. P. Canale, William Logan and Frank Podesta. The Little Rock-Hot Springs contingents will be largest from the beautiful Ozark country, between 500 and 600 coming from that section. Royalty was represented at Churchill Downs for the sixty-fifth Kentucky Derby in the person of Sir Heinrich Riedemann of Switzerland. Amon G. Carter, publisher of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, accompanied by Mrs. Carter, helped swell the Derby eve attendance in the spacious clubhouse. Among the early arrivals from the East was United States Senator Clarence Watson of West Virginia, mingling in the vast Derby eve clubhouse throng. Charles Roe, associate of R. J. Speers in the promotion of racing in the western Canada area, is due in Louisville Saturday morning from Winnipeg. Among the Nashville notables in attendance was Edward Potter, president of the Commerce-Union Bank of that Tennessee city. Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Farish of Houston, Texas were among the large group of Lone Star Staters making up the clubhouse attendance in anticipation of the Derby offering tomorrow. George D. Downing, banker of Jamaica, L. I., and an ardent racing fan, and Mrs. Downing occupied a clubhouse box Friday afternoon. William C. Dabney and Mrs. Dabney are entertaining Mr. and Mrs. Eliott Phillips of Greenwich, Conn., and Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Patton of Milwaukee at the Derby. William F. Morgan and E. E. -Fogelson of Texas and owners of one of the leading stables at Churchill Downs, were early arrivals and witnessed several days of racing before Derby Day. Royce Martin, owner of Woodvale Farm, and Mrs. Martin have a large party of friends from Toledo as their guests. They flew over in Mr. Martins private plane from Woodvale Farm, in Bourbon County, for the Derby eve sport. George B. McCamey, wealthy Fort Worth, Texas, oil operator and owner and breeder of thoroughbreds which race for the Bedford Stock Farm, is another Texan in the vast throng. Peter J. Holmes, general manager of Oak-lawn Park, was an arrival from St. Louis and will remain throughout the meeting. After a brief stay in Omaha, he goes to Fort Erie, where he will direct the annual fourteen-day meeting. From Cleveland came Morris Wexler, well known in sporting circles in the Forest City and a stanch racing fan. Among the celebrities of the motion picture world to arrive here are Walter Bren-nan, one of the stars of the picture "Kentucky," and Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Lowe. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. House of Evansville, Ind., and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Koehler of Milwaukee, Wis., are the Derby guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Breckenridge. Frederic C. McCracken will entertain at the Derby Mr. and Mrs. George Applegate and Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Travis of Battle ! Creek, Mich. I Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Norsworthy will watch their first Derby Saturday. They are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Langley. Mr. and Mrs. John Dodds Rauch of Lima, Ohio, are the Derby guests of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Lee Bowman. Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Shea, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Harry L..Kuchins of St. Louis, will be entertained by Mrs. William P. Cas-tleman. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Perry Cooper came from Los Angeles to witness the Derby running. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Moss arrived from Chicago Friday to be the Derby guests of Mrs. George W. Howard, Jr. Dr. Wilbur Helmus and Mrs. Helmus will have as their Derby guests Mrs. D. J. Ander-| son, Mrs. William Nichols, Mrs. W. V. Turner and Mrs. George Helmus of Reidsville, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Hilgemann, of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Glen B. Woodward, Bloomington, Ind., G. P. Wade, Nashville, | Carl Daniel, of St. Louis, and Congressman i N. J. Gregory of Washington, will be the Derby guests of Mr. and Mrs. Senator K. Gray. Dr. Al Arnstein and Mrs. Arnstein and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Missner arrived from Chicago today and will be the Derby guests of Mr. and Mrs. Philip B. Levitch. Dr. C. W. Dowden and Mrs. Dowden will entertain Mr. and Mrs. William M. Romey and Mr. and Mrs. George Oarkelson, of Richmond, Ind. Kentuckys former governor, Flem Sampson and Mrs. Sampson arrived from their home at Barboursville, Ky., today and will be Derby guests of their daughter, Mrs. Walter Wright and Mr. Wright James Cromwell, possible new senator from New Jersey and his wife Doris Duke Cromwell, who has been styled the worlds richest heiress, are arriving from Washington tomorrow morning. Another federal official to arrive tomorrow morning will be Stewart McDonald, Federal Housing Administrator.
