TRAINERS OF DERBY ENTRIES! * ■ - 4 LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 5— Confidence generally -was expressed by the trainers of Kentucky Derby candidates when asked for their opinions at Churchill Downs today. They are as follows: James Fitzsimmons, Johnstown — Hes one of the fastest horses Ive ever had the pleasure of training and I also believe he is one of the best. We are in the same position as a year ago when Fighting Fox disappointed, but I believe Johnstown is a much better horse. J. B. Theall, T. M. Dorsett— My colt showed me in his workout Thursday that he is better than at any time this year. I know he likes the track but whether hes good enough to win remains to be seen. Louis Schaefer, Challedon — We are all right, so far, so good, and we ai-e not worried. Challedon will be hard to beat. Matt Brady, El Chico— I feel that El Chico is going to run his race. Whether he can, I cannot say. A. C. Dettwiler, Xalapa Clown — You know as much about the colt as I do. Perhaps were not doing the right thing by running him but hes a nice horse and may be heard from. Earl Sande, Heather Broom — My horse is good. The question is — is he good enough? B. A. Jones, Technician — I think he will run a good race. I have no reason to expect him to do otherwise and hope he will improve off his last effort. Roy Waldron, On Location — All we can do is hope. My colt is fit enough. J. J. Flanigan, Viscounty— He is a difficult colt to ride, but with Bierman up he must be considered to have a chance. I know he likes the track.
