HOLLYWOOD PARK RACING TO AID CALIFORNIA BREEDERS BREEDERSAdditional Additional Ten Per Cent in Open Races to HomeBreds Placing PlacingINGLEWOOD INGLEWOOD Calif May 20 California breeders will benefit from racing at Holly ¬ wood Park whose meeting of fifty days opens Friday in direct ratio to thefleetness of their produce produceTwo Two years ago the Hollywood Turf Club inaugurated the policy of paying to breeders of Californiabred horses an additional ten per cent in open races for finishing first second and third and this liberal policy is being continued this summer summerThis This ten per cent bonus in no way affects the provisions of the state law whereby three per cent is deducted from the winning por ¬ tion of a purse and sent to the breeder of a Californiabred a payment which the Holly ¬ wood Turf Club is assuming for this season seasonThese These special inducements are among Hol leywood Parks contributions to the encour ¬ agement of thoroughbred breeding in the state an industry which has grown to tre ¬ mendous proportions in the last few years It has been estimated that the breeding in ¬ dustry in this state is valued at something like 60000000 60000000Hollywood Hollywood Park also will offer at least one race every day exclusively for home breds and two of its thirteen stakes are for thoroughbreds foaled in California The first of these events each worth 10000 in added money is the Haggin Stakes for twoyear olds which is to be run next Saturday and the other is the Golden State Breeders Handicap for older horses which will be offered as the feature on June 7
