along in near pursuit of the leaders responded gamely to punishment through the stretch and just failed to be along in time LADY ORCHID lightly reserved until the last half mile moved up steadily until reaching the last eighth then tired slightly SOLAR TOPI lost considerable ground rounding the first turn and could never enter into serious contention although making up some ground DEVILS PACE
