NEW YORK STATE TREASURY ENRICHED BY 7011670 7011670Metropolitan Metropolitan Tracks Turn Over Fund of Uncashed Mutuel Tickets TicketsALBANY ALBANY N Y May 20 Because holders of last years winning parimutuel tickets at New York race tracks failed to collect 7011670 the general fund of the state treasury was richer by that sum today ac ¬ cording to Mark Graves president of the State Tax Commission which is charged with the financial administration of pari mutuel betting in the state stateThe The ten associations and corporations which sponsored race meetings and hunts meets in the state last year paid the un ¬ claimed winnings into the state treasury in accordance with the parimutuel law How ¬ ever persons possessing tickets on last seasons winners may still collect their divi ¬ dends Tickets may be presented for pay ¬ ment at the track where they were pur ¬ chased and under the law the sponsoring association or corporation will pay off using unclaimed money similarly accumulated this season seasonOfficials Officials regarded it as probable that many of the uncashed winning tickets were lost or inadvertently destroyed by patrons The Metropolitan Jockey Club which operates the Jamaica track turned over the largest sum in unclaimed winnings 2151385 The Westchester Racing Associa ¬ tion Belmont paid in 1458670 and Em ¬ pire City Racing Association Yonkers 1282385
