VOUCHER OUTRUNS DELAWARE PARK OPPONENTS CROSSES FINAL MARKER SEVEN LENGTHS ON TOP TOPDixianas Dixianas After School Second to MarylandBred TwoYearOld Ring Up Proves Handy Winner WinnerSTANTON STANTON Del June 5 Voucher a Marylandbred son of Charing Cross and the Wrack mare Turmoil ran back to his pre ¬ vious excellent second to Sir Counsellor and showing a distinct liking for the muddy go ¬ ing made a show of the seven other maiden juveniles in the third race one of the best events offered a rainsoaked gathering of 5000 at Delaware Park this afternoon The Dixiana establishment of Charles T Fisher sent out a promising youngster in After School and although showing signs of green ¬ ness carried off second honors with George D Wideners Flourtown third at the end of the five furlongs furlongsMrs Mrs Isabel Dodge Sloanes Bidder again was installed the favorite but the Psychio Bid offspring was unable to match strides with the winner and weakened rapidly dur ¬ ing the closing stages stagesUnder Under the fine direction of Albert Schmidl who with this victory is pacing the reins men here Voucher sped into a clear lead during the run to the turn After School and Bidder the latter under strong handling were in closest pursuit and Bidder drew away from After School before approaching the last threeeighths Voucher however was increasing his margin and when he ar ¬ rived at the finish Schmidl had him in hand and seven lengths in front During the run for home After School moved to Bidder and he subdued him when inside the final sixteenth The Widener representative was charging in fine style and he was alongside the Dixiana colorbearer at the close Fol ¬ lowing Bidder to the wire were Glastauder Gay Call Milky Moon and Blueon The eight entrants each had up 118 pounds and Voucher rewarding at odds of 1060 for 2 ran the distance in 103 103Rains Rains last night and today provided mis ¬ erable weather for the sport which except the third race only attracted claiming per ¬ formers This was to be expected for the track was in such a bad condition yesterday that it was impossible to fill any of the best events The crowd however was above ex ¬ pectations pectationsAnother Another Marylandbred horse was victori ¬ ous when Ring Up furnished by J L Fried ¬ man was a handy winner of the fourth race fashioned for threeyearolds Marie Olym pia pacemaker to the final of the six fur ¬ longs was second and Tar Miss came from well back to garner third honors Elmada was the favorite but she raced wide through ¬ out and showed little while Stevada tired badly after enjoying a contending position for five furlongs
