WRIGHT TO SEEK FIRST ARLINGTON FUTURITY WIN MAY BE LUCKY SEVENTH FORCHICAGOSPORTSMAN FORCHICAGOSPORTSMANStable Stable Has Had Six Starters in Race but Without Success Sun Again Some Chance Hopes HopesThe The 1941 running of the Arlington Futu ¬ rity twoyearold feature of the thirtyfour day meeting at the North Side course June 23 to July 31 may prove to be the lucky seventh11 for the Calumet Farms stable of Warren Wright of Chicago ChicagoNo No less than six times in the past has the Chicagoan been represented in this outstand ¬ ing event of the twoyearold racing pror gram but never have the devil red and blue silks of Wrights establishment graced the winners circle circleIn In the throes of its greatest win streak however the Calumet Stable may break the jinx with no less than eight twoyearolds nominated for the fixture Included in the Calumet representation are two such juve ¬ niles as Sun Again a chestnut son of Sun Teddy Hug Again and Some Chance a chestnut son of Chance Play Some Pomp PompSun Sun Again distinguished himself by win ¬ ning the sixtyfifth running of the 5000 added Juvenile Stakes In that event which was run at Belmont Park on May 24 the Sun Teddy colt ran fiveeighths of a mile in 58Jfc for a new track record and finished three lengths in advance of his stablemate Some Chance Further back in the same field was the Coldstreams Albatross a highly regarded prospect during the winter season seasonThe The Chance Play colt Some Chance proved his right to consideration as an outstanding juvenile when he won the National Stallion Stakes at Belmont Park With two such juveniles as these in his barn Wright has an excellent chance of winning his first Arlington Park Futurity after several dis ¬ appointments appointmentsOthers Others nominated for the Arlington two yearold feature from the Calumet String are Bean By Bean Yukon Pharatheen Ho Hung Col Teddy and Wish Bone BoneFUTURITY FUTURITY EFFORT OF FAR STAR STARWrights Wrights first representative in the Futu ¬ rity was in the 1933 running but the best that colt who now stands at the stud at Calumet Farm could do was to finish sec ¬ ond to the Dixiana Stables Far Star The Chicagoan tried again with his highly re ¬ garded Nellie Flag in 1934 but that filly finished seventh in the race won by Norman W Churchs Toronancy ToronancySun Sun Teddy sire of Sun Again carried the Calumet colors in 1935 and finished eighth behind the Bomar Stables Grand Slam Priv ¬ ileged who later that same year won the Pimlico Futurity only to be disqualified for fouling Matey was the Calumet representa ¬ tive in 1936 but finished far back in the field in sixth place as the Milky Way Farms Tiger and the Valdina Farms Teddys Comet finished in a dead heat for first money Whirlaway was the highly regarded candidate for the 1940 renewal but it came up mud and Cleaveland Putnams gray son of Ladysman Swain scored a surprise vic ¬ tory as the Blenheim II colt finished third behind Valdina Groom GroomWhirlaway Whirlaway of course has gone on to win the American triple crown this year and will probably be seen in the Classic field when that threeyearold feature is run on Saturday July 26 The Futurity will be the banner attraction of the card on Saturday July 12 12Other Other outstanding events on the Arling ¬ ton Park schedule are the 10000 added Stars and Stripes Handicap the 10000 added Lassie Stakes and the 7500 Arling ¬ ton Handicap which will feature the exten ¬ sive program of turf events listed this year
