WESLOW, taken back when in elose quarters on the first turn, managed to hold a contending position thereafter, came around HAPPY ROAD for the drive and wore him down in the last twenty yards. HAPPY ROAD, well ridden, disposed of BLUE VALLEY when ready, opened a long lead midway of the stretch, faltered in the drive and failed to hold safe the winner. BABY GOLD, in the thick of contention all the way, closed steadily in the stretch. GUAYMAS, well rated, closed with a belated rush and was wearing down the leaders. BLUE VALLEY tired. ARDOUR could not get up. The others were outiun.
