Amber Light, Bless Me Work Five-Eighths at Detroit Track DETROIT, Mich., June 24. — Amber Light, Charles T. Fishers Dixiana homebred victor in the 1943 renewal of the Louisiana Derby, visited the Fair Grounds track this morning and was breezed an easy five furlongs in 1:03%. Trainer Jack Hodgins supervised the work and Jockey Don Scurlock was at the reins on the son of Pilate — Red Sunset. A. G. Wilson, conditioner of Lieut. Theo dore D. Buhls contingent, sent Sweep Swinger and Tomluta out together and the pair went six furlongs in 1:15, handily. Another outstanding performer, Darby Dan Farms Bless Me, went five furlongs in l:02y5, breezing, and the trial was particularly satisfying to trainer Jack Long. Three Percent, representative of J. Howard Rouse, and winner of the ,000 Boots and Saddle Handicap here on inaugural day, turned a half-mile in :48%. handily, under the watchful eyes of William Crump, conditioner for the Rouse Stable.
