HAZEL W. followed ai« ng in nearest pursuit of the pace, swung to the outside in the stretch, closed determinedly and was ,ilong in the concluding stride. SQUADRON went to the front after rounding the first turn, drew away into a good lead and, rated along under slight restraint, fought it out willingly and just failed to bold on long enounh. NEDDIE LASS moved up steadily down the back stretch and held on with good energy through the stretch run. DINGMANS moved up stoutly approaching the stretch, but failed to close any eround during the remainder of the way. TROON, shuffled bark, was going willingly at the end. FIRST WATER, outrun early, was unable to engage the leaders. BROILER neer was prominent. SHNSI trailed and pulled up sore. TOP TRANSIT, in the first flight from the start, responded gamely to hard urging in the stretch, caught GUY FAWKES tiring and drew out in the last seventy yards. FLYING BONNY went to the ftont at once, lost the lead to GUY FAWKES in the stretch and, while holding on well, was unable to cope with the bid of the winner. LOST GOLD, forwardly placed, hung through the last sixteenth when placed to vigorous urging. EPAY closed a big gap in the last quarter. TIARA was unable to better her position. PETES BET went forwardly placed all the way, although unable to go along with the first two during the closing test. SNARLEYOW went evenly. MANIPULATE was unable to engage the leaders. TATTNALL STAR closed some ground. HARDSHIP showed speed for the first half. OUR BLEN was never prominent. SERGEANT BILL quit badiy.
