Earns Easy Purse of ,800 JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y.. April 10.— The Metropolitan Jockey Club, operators of Jamaica race track, paid the entire purse of ,800 to C. F. Kohler. owner of Star of Padula who was led over to the paddoek by trainer James Ritchie, and then walked over in the first race when no other horses reported, it was announced by Francis P. Dunne, steward representing the New York State Racing: Commission. The association was only required to pay the ,160, which would have been the winners share of the purse. Star of Padula was slightly better than 16 to 1. in the wagering at the time the race was called "no contest" and all bets refunded.
