State Receives 468961 468961LOUISVILLE LOUISVILLE Ky May 19 The man ¬ agement of Churchill Downs announced that the betting during the 19day spring meeting totaled 14048705 which was a drop of 6 per cent from the handle of 14959561 of last year The state through its new 3 per cent rate on wagering col ¬ lected 421461 In addition the state col ¬ lected 47500 in flat taxes calculated at the rate of 2500 a day The management said part of the decrease was caused by the absence of place and show betting on the Kentucky Derby
