Trotsek One of Busiest Turfmen at Detroit Oval OvalIs Is Conditioning 30 Head Besides Conducting Jockey School There ThereFAIR FAIR GROUNDS Detroit Mich May 19 While smaller stables play a very im ¬ portant part in the general racing picture at Detroit it is noted that each year the more powerful racing establishments re ¬ turn fortified with additional racing stock to seek honors in the handicaps valued at from 7500 to 15000 which are offered on Saturdays and holidays Prominent among the larger stables to check in at this course for the 85 day meeting which opens Saturday May 22 is the establishment conditioned by Harry Trotsek TrotsekUnder Under Trotseks care are more than 30 horses who will represent a dozen different owners and who range from hopefuls for the top prizes to those eligible to the lower claiming races Trotseks patrons include O F Woodward for whom he has the older handicap horses Sir Sprite and Sari Yet and the very useful threeyearolds Hilda Impersonator and Chippewa Chief For J F Smith Trotsek has the sister and brother Sistayr and Montayr Ray Anken bauers hardhitting Porters Broom and High Ego are training well The speedy Dicks Gal the property of Mrs E Farris is being prepped for important races The Hasty House Farm of A E Reuben numbers among its colorbearers the wellregarded juveniles Jimminy Gosh and Wonder Boots Trotseks other patrons are F Spell man M J B Stable of the L W Stellings family E R Morris H Atkins N Thomas Mrs C Withers and Michael Murphy MurphyIn In addition to his training chores Trot ¬ sek again has taken over the management of the jockey school of the Detroit Racing Association and will have some 20 embryo jockeys under his tutelage for saddle ser ¬ vice in the popular races exclusively for novice jockeys Several of last years grad ¬ uates from the school gained considerable prominence in open competition notably W M Cook J Duff and W Zakoor and this trio will be back in open competition this year yearThe The large size of his stable will by no means give Trotsek things his own way here for several other stables rivaling his in size and quality are already quartered on the grounds These include the powerful Dearborn Stable of James Powers of De ¬ troit which is being readied for competition by Dwight Denham and which houses the handicap performers War Special Clean Slate Out o The Sun Black Tweetie and dozen goodlooking juveniles
