Camden Meeting Nets State 3786281 3786281TRENTON TRENTON N J June 2 The New Jersey Racing Com ¬ mission reported here today that the state received a total of 3786281 as its share from the parimutuel betting at the Garden State meeting which ended Monday This was an increase of 67387 over last year It was due to the increased take provided by legislation passed this year There was a decline in the amount of money bet the total this year having been 49534033 as against 66597616 in 1947 The average bet the commission estimated was 8640 against 9751 last year The recent meeting embraced 40 days April 15 to May 31 Last year there were 42 days of racing at the Camden track from August 25 to October 11 11The The mutuel tax in this state was increased from 10 to 12 per cent On the first 40000000 bet the track and common weath each lake 6 per cent Over 40000000 the states share increases and the tracks share decreases on a sliding scale All breakage accrues to the state This amounted to 728899 at the rec nt meeting meetingThe The attendance fell off this year The total was 573325 as against 682961 in 1947 On many days of the meeting tht weather was cold and rainy
