Hefferon New Trainer For Rolling Hills Stable 16 Thoroughbreds Being Readied For McCarty at Hollywood Park ParkHOLLYWOOD HOLLYWOOD PARK Inglewood Calif May 12 The Rolling Hills Farm stable of Walter G McCarty has been taken over by Edward J Hefferon at Hollywood Park Hefferon is readying 16 thoroughbreds for the 50day season which opens next Tues ¬ day at the Inglewood track trackMcCarty McCarty former president of the Tlolly wood Turf Club and the California Thor ¬ oughbred Breeders Association and a direc ¬ tor of both organizations now has been one of the Wests leading thoroughbred breed ¬ ers and owners since racing returned to California in 1934 and he is expected to send an exceptionally strong group of young horses to the post at Hollywood HollywoodIncluded Included in the Rolling Hills roster in Hefferons charge at Hollywood Park are several sons and daughters of Artillery the brilliant son of Alibhai who provided Holly ¬ wood patrons with one of their greatest thrills when he deadheated with Seetee see in winning the 1947 running of the Golden State Breeders Handicap in what was then the worlds record time of 141 for a mile and a sixteenth sixteenthNine Nine of Artillerys progeny will carry the Rolling Hills silks during the forthcdming season in addition to his twoyearold half brother a handsome son of another great Hollywood favorite and stakes winner Ma fosta and the good broodmare Tediana The colts name is Teddy Fosta and he will make his racing debut at the Inglewood meeting Hefferon succeeds Reggie Cor ¬ nell trainer of a large public stable as con ¬ ditioner of the McCarty horses
