Samcirdick to Supervise Policing at Centennial CentennialFormer Former Omaha NebrPoliceChief And Head of Armored Car Service ServiceLITTLETON LITTLETON Colo May 12 Centennial race track is going to have the assistance this year of a nationallyfamous police of ¬ ficer who achieved the reputation of mak ¬ ing the AkSarBen track in Omaha one of the cleanest in the entire country countryHe He is Robert P Samardick former chief of police in Omaha who has been engaged by Centennial officials to supervise the policing of the 1952 Centennial meet meetBefore Before accepting the assignment he ex ¬ acted a promise from Centennial officials that he would have an absolute free hand in eliminating undesirable from the rack track premises Our executive committee has promisee1 Mr Samardick every possible support said Barry Whitehead director of racing at Centennial He is a man of long experience in police work and he and his staf f are well acquainted with the many parasites who infest the fringe of honest racing and at ¬ tempt to prey upon the sport sportHe He has been assured of the fullest co ¬ operation by chief of police Herbert E Forsythe of Denver and sheriff Charles Foster of Arapahoe County and with their lielp we are confident that he will make Centennial too one of the cleanest tracks in the country Samardick is not only engaged in police work but he is also the head of a large armored car service and a few years ago was president of the National Armored Car Association He is a member of the Inter ¬ national Association of Chiefs of Police and of the World Secret Service Association Active in many civic affairs Samardick is a former commander of Omaha Post No 1 the worlds largest post of the American Legion
