Probe Use of Names For Proposed Track TrackListed Listed in Brochure for Course Reported Planned at Lansing LansingTwo Two local political figures and a prom ¬ inent Chicago attorney have objected officially to the use of their names in con ¬ nection with a proposed new race track in Bloom Township south of Lansing HI States attorney John Gutknecht said he would investigate the unauthorization of names that have been listed in a brochure of the course called the Shamrock Race Track with the organization to be known as the Illinois Jockey Club ClubThose Those voicing objection are Judge Daniel Covelli of the Superior Court John J Duf ¬ fy County Commission and attorney Ednyfed H Williams former chairman of the Illinois Racing Board BoardJohn John Leonard a law partner of Williams said the latter had not authorized the use of his name in connection with the pro ¬ motion and had written Thomas E Bourke secretary of the new club with offices at 188 W Randolph Street to eradicate his name from the tracks letterhead letterheadBourke Bourke has not made an official state ¬ ment concerning the proposed race course However William Maurice sales director of the jockey club Tuesday said contracts for a 25year lease on 855 acres south of Lansing had been signed and that facts for construction of the track Iso had been negotiated Maurice further stated that present plans call for work to be started soon soonJudge Judge Covelli immediately upon hearing that his name had been listed in the brochure as a member of the board of di ¬ rectors asked Gutknecht to investigate the promotion Covelli learned the news on Monday when a friend at the County Build ¬ ing informed him he was considering buy ¬ ing a membership in the club Member ¬ ships according to the brochure are be ¬ ing offered for a fee of 1000 1000Gutknecht Gutknecht has invited Bourke to bit office to talk over the matter
