Withers which net ¬ ted Mrs Elizabeth N Graham 26250 of the 35350 purse plus a trophy which was presented by Ashley T Cole chairman of the New York State Racing Commission The chestnut colt is a son of Jet Pilot from the mighty Busher whom he resembles strikingly in color conformation and style of running Jet Action is eligible to both the Preakness and Belmont Stakes and must be considered a serious factor in both stakes as well as the Jersey Stakes at Garden State on May 29 should he elect to go in that fixture fixtureLast Last August Jet Action escaped from his stall one night at Saratoga and ran loose in the stable arta and venturing into town returning with skinned knees and assorted cuts and scratches which Mrs Graham spent many hours each day treating with her own preparations preparationsJorge Jorge Contreras got Jet Action out of the gate a length before his rivals in the Withers but allowed Ordained to move up along the rail and take a slight lead that he held just inside the threefurlong pole while Buttevant was a close third The favored Palm Tree was last away from the gate but moved up steadily on the outside and was in fourth place midway of the sweeping turns High Gun was back in seventh place at this stage and none of the others appeared to be going any place placeCurving Curving for home Contreras roused Jet Action lightly and the golden chestnut colt responded with a bound quickly moving into a daylight lead while Buttevant went very wide as he stormed past the staggering Ordained into second place Palm Tree also went quite wide while chasing Buttevant while High Gun surged into contention be ¬ tween horses Contreras reached back and stung Jet Action a routine gesture passing the furlong pole and the colt showed his displeasure by switching his tail and dig ¬ ging in his toes for a stride or two but resumed his smooth action when hand ridden to the finish Buttevant finished steadily while High Gun outfinished Palm Tree at the end The latter had run the mile of his last start in faster time than the 136 of the Withers but carried 10 pounds less that day dayMaine Maine Chance Farm also sent out Fan tine
