Bonny Cadette Displays Winning Form at Ascot AscotGains Gains Lead in Stretch to Whip Little Father by Two Lengths LengthsBy By RONALD KRANCER KRANCERStaff Staff Correspondent CorrespondentASCOT ASCOT PARK Cuyahoga Falls Ohio May 8 Bonny Cadette owned in partner ¬ ship by Clevelanders Hall and Fetzer scored a thrilling twolength tally in the sixth race here this afternoon before a chilled crowd of nearly 7000 Little Father one of the outsiders was second another two lengths in front of Old Limber at the end of the four and onehalf furlongs The winner was strongly ridden by Richard Westfall and after completing the test in 56 paid 1020 The track was heavy for todays sport sportAt At the request of Ike Bassett general manager of the Jockeys Guild all this afternoons races were at four and one half furlongs with the exception of the eighth race which was seven furlongs The track although heavy appeared to be in much better condition today and should be back to normal by early next week weekForm Form held up very well with five fa ¬ vorites or near choices scoring in the first six events eventsBonny Bonny Cadette who was left at the post in her last race and then finished third broke alertly this time and was second to Old Limber as the field raced up the back stretch The heavily favored Dainger Ring with Eddie Plesa aboard was third Bay Queen ran fourth Dr Pentick Royal Fiddle and Little Father completed the field fieldOld Old Limber continued to lead as the horses raced into the far turn while the eventual victress was second a length and onehalf in arrears and Dainger Ring was still third but beginning to tire Bay Queen was on the outside and running fourth fourthMidway Midway around the final turn Bonny Cadette ranged up on the outside of Old Limber and entering the stretch had forged into the lead Old Limber was second at the furlong marker a length and onehalf better than Bay Queen who at that point loomed dangerously dangerouslyIn In the remaining furlong with Bonny Cadette on the outsidd and in the better going there was no doubt as to the out ¬ come Both Bay Queen and Old Limber were getting late and Little Father on the extreme outside and closing like the wind was up to capture second money moneyBonny Bonny Cadette was winning her first race of the meeting arid last season only scored twice in 17 starts startsThe The smallest Daily Double in the history of Ascot Park 740 was returned this afternoon when two outstanding choices Deficit and Jack Tyrie won the first two races The previous low was 760 which was returned in 1952 Both Jack Tyrie and Deficit paid 340 to win winEddie Eddie Plesa was aboard Deficit in the opener and after breaking in front drew clear to win by seven lengths Dark Charm was second while Dikranagerd was third another two lengths in arrears arrearsGail Gail Parker scored his 38th tally of the meeting when he was successful aboard Jack Tyrie The winners margin was two lengths with Gold Shoe moving through along the rail to gain the place award by a neck over Arow ArowMondays Mondays eightrace program Trill be fea ¬ tured by the Hardware Dealers Purse at seven furlongs If no rain falls over the week end the track should be good for Mondays sport A field of seven has ac ¬ cepted the conditions of the race and it appears to be a wide open affair
