PimlicosTwo Courses In Excellent Condition ConditionNonActivity NonActivity Helps Main Oval Turf Strip Overseeded Twice TwiceBALTIMORE BALTIMORE Md April 30 Pimlicos two race courses the main oval with its dirt surface and the turf course in the infield are in excellent condition for the opening of the spring meeting May 8 Track superintendent Henry Berryman is the authority for the statement statementThere There were no horses on the main track at Pimlico from December 15 until the last week in February and this rest has helped the track according to Berry ¬ man It has needed only a normal amount of work this spring to put it in peak con ¬ dition The Pimlico strip since its rebuild ¬ ing a few years back has been known as a fast but safe surface surfaceAs As for the turf course it was over seeded last fall and again this spring to eliminate any possible bare spots and a survey of the grass layout from the press box reveals a magnificent spread of sod The grass will be kept at about four inches I for turf racing according to Berryman BerrymanTwo Two of Pimlicos more important stakes the Dixie and Riggs will be decided on the turf and there will be grass events almost daily
