Innovation Cutting Down Post Parade Successful SuccessfulFAIRMOUNT FAIRMOUNT PARK Collinsville 111 April 30 The new innovation of saddling horses in the paddock and then parading them around a walking ring in the infield for about five minutes thence a three minute gallop to the post proved popular here Saturday night when Fairmount Park opened the southern Illinois racing season General manager Ray C Bennigsen and his associates expected to encounter some trouble with the usually late bettors but they were surprised when informed by the mutuel manager Paul Haphen that patrons were prompt in making their wagers and there was only one race the third in which a few patrons arrived at the wickets too late to make their wagers wagersPost Post time between the second and third races was 22 minutes and it is believed most of the fans unable to wager on the third were those who cashed tickets on the I Daily Double event
