OneTwo Finishes In Big Race Rare RareFeat Feat Accomplished on Four Occasions Colonel Bradley Turned Tough Trick Twice TwiceCHURCHILL CHURCHILL DOWNS LouisviHe Ky May 4 Winning the Kentucky Derby is enough of an accomplishment for any owner but it is rare indeed when one mans colors finish onetwo in this classic race As difficult a feat as this is however it has been done on four occasions with the late Col Edward R Bradley turning the trick twice twiceCol Col Bradleys first orletwo finish was in the 1921 renewal when Behave Your ¬ self beat his stablemate Black Servant by a head The entry returned 1930 13 and 560 across the board The 1921 edi ¬ tion of the Derby was unique in that an ¬ other stable entry Harry Payne Whitneys Prudery and Tryster finished threefour Col Bradley had to wait only until the 1926 Derby for his horses to run one two i again This time it was his Idle Hour Stock i Farm pair of Bubbling Over and Bagen baggage who did it with the former lead i ing all the way to score by five lengths over his stablemate paying 580 to win the same to place and 460 to show showSir Sir BartonBilly Kelly in 1919 1919Commander Commander J K L Ross Sir Barton and Billy Kelly put on the onetwo act in 1919 returning 720 670 and 6 as sec ¬ ond choice to the unplaced J W McClel ¬ land entry of Sailor and Eternal Sir Bar ton went on to take the Preakness and Belmont Stakes and become the first win ¬ ner of the Triple Crown CrownCalumet Calumet Farms Citation and Coaltown were the most recent slam winners of the Derby accomplishing the feat in 1948 Citation led his stablemate by three and a half lengths and paid 80 with no place or show wagering since only six hoises started in the ace Entiles have run onethree in the Derby on two occasions with the Gushing Orth pair of Lookout and Boundless being sep ¬ arated by Plutus in 1893 and the Thomas C McDowell duo of Alan A Dale and The Rival being split by Investor in 1902
