Report Death of Alex Scholen ScholenCAHOKIA CAHOKIA DOWNS East St Louis 111 May 13 L H Van Zandt racing secretary here journeyed to James C Ellis Park over the week end where he serves in the same capacity Upon his return here Van Zandt reported the death of Alex Scholen who died in the Deaconess Hospital in Evans ville Ind April 17 with interment in Cannelton Ind Scholen Avas born in Swepenhausen Germany in 1880 He served as stall and feedman at Dade Park from 1925 through 1956 when illness forced his retirement
