Sambo, far from condition, ran a good race under a weak ride. Zazel was badly bungled and cut off at every turn but finished strongly. Josie F. was twice cut off and generally misused; Jim Winn ran a bad race and can do better. Bengal broke smartly, got free of a tangled field and ran gamely in the stretch and was well ridden. The Phoenician was off badly and was poorly ridden, but closed up a lot of ground and could probably have won with a strong rider on him. Lofter ran his usual good race under a weak ride. The Boer showed improvement. Sweet Dream is seemingly of no present account. Overweights Tragedy, 2 pounds; Nettie Regent, 5. Bengal, show, 6 to 5.
