Au Eeroir showed the most speed, but had to be hustled out at the end to stall off Topsoils splendid rush. The latter moved up fast in the last eighth and finished strongly. Ahola would have lost third place in another strido to Gregor K., which was all tangled up in the first quarter, but moved up fast down the stretch whenihe got clearsailing. Gold Bell showed scant speed throughout. Our Bessies race was too utterly bad to be true. She was never a keen contender. Scratched 33554 Albemarle, 110. Au Eevoir, show, 1 to 2. Jack Rattlin showed his usual turn of speed, but had to be ridden out hard in the closing strides to beat out Lendin. He responded with splendid gameness when called on in the last fifty yards. Len-din finished strongly and was lucky to get through just after turning for home. Jack Rattlin leaving the opening. Colonial Girl moved up fast in the last eighth and from there to the wire was a keen contender. Mirance tired so badly in the last eighth that he swerved into Duelist, cutting the latter off badly and throwing him out of the race. Nickey D. was cut off just before turning for home, but was tiring fast at the time. Albermarle ran well for five furlongs. Scratched 334403Stem Winder, 77. Overweights Lendin, 31 pounds. Argregor ran to his eastern form, was carefully rated along, made his final run at the right time and won almost as his rider pleased. Scarlet Lily showed much speed but was tiring at the end and would have lost second in another stride. Hunter Raine ran a splendid race, closing up ground fast in the last eighth. Slace Irontas was coming fast at the end. As usual ne began slowly and gradually improved his position. Wild Pirate was well spent when the last eighth struggle came up. Hermencia and Lucien Appleby were never in the hunt. Six Shooter made a fast move just on the bend for home, but fell away rapidly when well straightened for home. He appeared to be anchored with his weight. Fancy Man showed well for a mile. Jimineis showed a flash of early speed only. . Ben Chance came fast next to the inside rail down the last quarter. John McGurk made up much ground in the last half. He would have been a keen contender with any kind of racing luck. Cogswell cried quits when turning for home. Lou Hazel ran well for seven furlongs. Tre-bor ran a bad race, being hopelessly beaten off all the way. Artena, show, 4 to 5. Cougar, show, evens. Alard closed up fast in the last sixteenth, but had to be hustled up a bit in the closing strides to stall off Adelantes bold bid next to the inside rail in the last sixteenth. The latter bumped into Peat when opposite the last eighth post, throwing him off his stride and was disqualified. Peat being placed second and Major Dixon third. Peat tired fast when a furlong out. Major Dixon was well spent just after turning for home. Piederich showed early speed. Overweights Adelante, 11 pounds. Peat, show. 4 to 5. Major Dixon, show, 2 to 1. Bronze Wing displayed a keen turn of speed and finished strongly. Rose Tree was undoubtedly the best, but was messed about generally until in the last eighth. She was pocketed badly until just after turning for home, where she got through in the usual spread and finished with a splendid rush. Geyser tired badly in the closing strides. He had no mishaps, being taken next to the inside rail all through the last quarter. Theory was right there for five furlongs, but fell away beaten when a furlong out.
