COMMISSION GRANTS THE LICENSE. There Will, However, Be Further Contention in the Courts Against James Butler. New York, July -5. John Bodcn, secretary of the New York State Racing Commission, made the ollicial announcement today that Commissioners Wadsworth and Knapp met during the afternoon and, in obedience to a writ of mandamus, granted a license to the Empire City Association to hold a race meeting. An appeal from this order will immediately in; taken to the Court of Appeals. All inquiries as to the plans of the Kniplre City Association were referred by James Butler and his associates to their counsel, J. R. Soley.
