BIG WINNINGS IN ENGLISH RACING. Owners and Horses Led by W. Hall Walker and Lally. In England, as in this country, the racing season of 1007 is in the declining stage, with one point of difference. There does not remain to be run in this country a race that will net the winner ,000, while in England a number are yet to be run of greater value than that sum. Still, the season there has, reached that stage where tables of statistics are in order and the big winners of the year are pretty well defined as they are here. Among owners. .Mr. W. Hall Walker stands out by himself. At latest advices his horses had won for him ,502.50. This cniuiKircs poorly with the enormous total of Mr. Keene s winnings, but. is sudicient to indicate that he may have stable earnings of over 00,000 when the season closes. Five other owners have stable winnings of more . than 0,000. In this country eleven owners have winnings of over 0,000. Ip to the most recent- advices the twenty leading owners in England made the following sliowing: Winning Races Owner. Horses. Won. Value. W. Hall Walker 7 12 ,502.50 W. t:. Clark, with 0,200, are the only other owners with stable winnings of as much as 0,000. As a three-year-old Lally was distinctly a disappointment, but he lias made amends in his four-year-old form and heads Englands winning horses with 7,775 to his credit. Four American horses have won more than this. The St. Leger winner. Wool Winder, is second to Lally with total winnings of 2,085. only the two having won as much as 0,000. The twenty principal winning horses are the following: Horse, Age and Pedigree. Won. Lally, 4, by Ainphlon -Miss Hoyden 7,775 Wool Winder. 3, by Martagon St. AVindeline 52.0S5 Sancy, 4, by Diamond Jubilee Dame Agneta 40,020 Slieve Gallion, 3, by Gallinule Reclusion.. 3S.523 White Eagle. 2, by Gallinule Merry Gal.. 37,S55 Orby, 3, by Orme Rhoda B 33.5S5 The White Knight, 4, by Desmond Pella .. 32,475 Beppo, 4, by Marco Pitti 25,000 Glass Doll, 3, by Isinglass Fota 24,750 Polymeltis, 5, by Cyllene Maid Marian 22,200 Witch Elm, 3, by Orme Cannie Lassie 21,750 Lesbia, 2, by St. Frusquin Glare . ., 21,535 Bridge of Canny, 4, by Love Wisely Santa Briglda 21,220 Acclaim, 3, by Amphion Claeque 17,570 Velocity, 5, by Speed Ballast 10,000 Torpoint, 7, by Trenton Doncaster Beauty 10,050 Frugality, 3. by St. Frusquin Wise Virgin 15,250 Sir Archibald, 2, by Desmond Arc Light.. 14,052 Prospector, 2, by Pioneer Kendal Belle 14,005 Bolted, 2, by .Matchmaker Dark Agnes .. 14,005 In the foregoing list there are two five-year-olds, one seven-year-old,, .five four-year-olds, seven three-year-olds and .five two-year-oldn. The twenty American loaders are made up of two live-year-olds, one fonr.ycar-old, eleven three-year-olds and six two-year-olds, the comparison seeming to show that horses older than three years old are given a better chance to earn money in rich stakes than in this country. However, it is not to be overlooked that our three-year-olds of 1007 are of extraordinary merit. Among the English stallions Gallinule is the premier, owing his supremacy to Slieve Gallion and The White Knight. Lally and Acclaim have given the dead sire, Amphion, second place. The sires witli progeny having won 0,000, rank- as follows: Sire and Pedigree. Won.
