PINKERTON PRAISES FAIR GROUNDS. New Orleans, La., December 11. Allan Pinker-ton, Jr., who has succeeded to the position held by ills late father, Robert A. Iinkerton, iu the detective agency of that name, was a visitor at the Fair Grounds this afternoon. "I just dropped in from New York," said Mr. Iinkerton. "I expected to meet my uncle. William IMukertou, lion?, but on my arrival found that lie had not yet left California. I shall leave for Chicago tonight. I thought that I would take a run out to see the new track. They will have a beautiful park here when the plant is completed and I shall make an effort to run Joyu again after .the holidays,"
