CHURCHILL DOWNS IN DANGER. Louisville, Ky., December 2S. If the annexation ordinance introduced In the city council several weeks ago Is passed, it is probable that the famous race track, Churchill Downs, will be divided iuto building lots and put on tho market. The tax under the proposed ordinance of .75 per 00 of valuation will be too heavy for the management to keep the property for race track purposes. Douglas Park, the other track here, may not be brought within the city limits, and if not will be kept in repair. What the intentions of the present sheriff are regarding track betting is not known, but it is thought no race meeting will be attempted if, he pursues the policy of liis predecessor
