DORANTE AND MATES AT OAKLAND. San Francisco. Cal.. October 27. F. A. Forsythe arrived from New York today with seventeen yearlings, mostly by Oddfellow, and the following older horses: Dorante. Berry Maid. High Private. Bon Homme. Fordello. Halloween. Jeanne dArc. Ken-more. Moorish King. Oesa. Twilight Queen. Warden and Fanatic. J. Lee. stable jockey, will come here next week from New Orleans, where he is visiting relatives. Jockeys Shreve and P. Kelly, and apprentices Fox, Fitzpatrick and Hagan came with the horses. G. H. Keene has returned from Kentucky, having made arrangements for the shipment of Raconteur and a Gold Heels yearling to the coast with T. II. Stevens or I. H. Miller. The former is coming to Santa Anita and Miller will race here. J. O. Keene will return to America from Japan with jockey Scoville about December I. H . G. Bedwells marc Luretta died today from pneumonia. Frank Weirs California string will include Jim Gaffney. Roseben, Milford. Cressina. Fancy. Strike Out. Sir Lynnewood. Rockstone. The Vicar and two yearlings. Charlie Ellison will arrive here next Tuesday. Jockeys Rettig and Borel have arrived from the northwest. The former will ride for William Fisher and Borel probably for the Ormondale Stable. S. 0. Hlldreth made 175 nominations to the California Jockey Clubs stakes. The principal work-outs today were: Dandelion, a mile in 1:45: Nadzu. a mile in 1:44: Fitz Herbert, a mile in 1:46. and Sewell. six furlongs in -1:10.
