HORSES AT WORK AT HAWTHORNE. Five carloads of horses arrived at Hawthorne yesterday for the two-days meeting which is to open there tomorrow. Three carloads came from Toronto and two from Kentucky. The track is in good condition and the following work-outs were, noted: Alberta Boy Five-eighths in 1:02. Chenault Half mile in 53. Easily. Duchess Daffy Three-quarters in 1:19. Appears to lie reaily. Frank Flesher Six and one-half furlongs In 1:25. Is ready. Gin Rickey Throe-quarters in 1 :20. Jim W. Three-quarters in 1:17. Iiretta Dwyer Five-eighths in 1:01. Pulling up. Maylield Seven-eighths in 1:32. Easily. Miiile Reynolds Seven-eighths in 1::!0. Miss Kingsbury Mile in 1:50. Modesto Boy Half mile in 49. Is lit. Princess Cunard Five-eighths in 1:0."!. Puck -.Mile in 2:00. Sir Morris Half mile in 52. Breezing. Stick Pin Mile in 1:50. Well in hand. Tip Dawdell Half mile in 50. Well in hand.
