DAYS RACING AT BOWIE IS SPIRITED. Most of. tho Winners at New Maryland. Track Score Only After Hard Drives, Baltimore, Md., October 7. Stirring finishes marked the racing at Bowie this afternoon, a majority of the winners being returned after hard stretch drives. What was accorded the feature iwsition on the program, a dash of one mile and a sixteenth, fell to J. U. Strode s Billie Raker, with Armor second and Henry Hutchison third, lhc winner followed" the pacemaker uutll the stretch turn was reached, then closing resolutely, drew away from Armor. . ... A "good thing" was cut loose in the opening dash, when Between Ls lasted long enough to beat the fast closing Isehgabibble. The attendance, which has shown a marked increase day by day, was not materially affected by threatening skies. When F. J. Pons Grazelle won the second race she was bid up from 00 to 00 by C. N. Freeman, but was retained by the stable. Tin? suspension against jockey Ward expired yesterday, and he resumed riding today. Among the numerous arrivals today were 1. L. Brown. George Reardon and V. Leniay, W. Leroux anil Lee Campbell, from Toronto. A shipment of four carloads of horses will be made to Latouia at the close of tho present meeting. E. J.
