BETTER TBACK AND BACING JUAREZ GOING BACK TO NORMAL AND THE HOUSES SHOWING MORE SPEED. Othello Wins the Sprint Handicap in a Canter — ■ Bank and Tillotson Drop Out of the Maiden Class — Many Arrivals. Fl Paso. Tex.. December 10.— The Juaror track was hack l » ils normally fast condition today and there was a corresponding improvement in the racing. A handicap at three-quarters of a mile bad I Ik- place of honor n the program and was contested l«y a small Imt select liaiid of sprinters. It resulted in the easiest kind of a victory for Jefferson Livingstons Othello, which outclassed his op-|M sitioa and had no trouble in making the weight concessions demanded of him. lie had a margiu of several lengths at all times and just cantered along in front to win as bis rider pleased. Brook-lield came at the end with a rush to dispone of Carrie Ornie for second money. The allowance race for two-year-olds with which the afternoons proceedings began enabled Hank to graduate lrom the maiden class. Hank had raced disappointingly in two preceding starts, but was again backed with confidence :.s the favorite of lie- race. He won in a way that left no doubt of his superiority. Shell Ho was second and Circulate, which had easily beaten Hank when he last started, was third. Another maiden was successful in the second race, when Tillotson got home in advance of a nudioere band, with High Street and Katharine G. in closest attendance. Eastman never gave his backers the least bit of concern in the third, for he made every post :i winning one with a goodly margin at all points. Henry Walhank and letit Bleu were in closest pursuit fr.mi start to finish. The fifth produced a rattling good finish between IManey and Oldsmoblle. The former set the pace and held a lead of several lengths at one part •! the running, but was tiring at the end and succeeded in lieating oldsniobile only by a neck. Curlicue made good for tlie talent in the closing dash, although hard pressed at the fiuish by Mar-jorie D. The latter might have won but for becoming inv. lived in several jams iu the early racing.
