AVon driving; second and third the same. LADY ROTHA took the lead when straightened out on the backstretch and, keeping it, outstayed J. J. LILLIS in the final drive. J. J. LILLIS moved up steadily on the outside and made a game effort at the eighth post, but tired in the closing strides. PULLUX was in clone quarters next to the inner rail until in the homestretch, then "came fast on the outside and was wearing the leaders down at the finish. TRACTION ran well. HARAVOOD II. tired. THORNIIILL had no mishaps. The winner, entered for ,200, was bid up to ,505 and bought in. AVIIIMSY was reserved in the early running and. saving ground on the turns, finished gamely and outstayed ELECTION through the final eighth. ELECTION responded gamely to punishment and finished fast. ULTIMA THULE raced on the outside of the leaders from the start and was forced wide on the stretch turn, but closed up steadily under punishment and would have won in anolher stride. HAPPY GO LUCKY was always a close contender, but was tiring in the final eighth. DR. JOHNSON could never get to the leaders. BANTRY and CADDIE were outrun all the way. The latter, outpaced for the first three-quarters, came wide while rounding the last turn, but closed up rapidly and finished Avith a rush. BALLAD was a forward contender and held on resolutely to outstay AVESTY HOGAN. The latter set a great pace for a mile. CORN TASSEL tired after going a mile.
