Racing Statistics of the Fall Meeting Meetingof of the Metropolitan Jockey Club Clubat at the Jamaica Race Course The Metropolitan Jockey Clubs fall meeting at Jamaica was one of the most spectacular ever held on the Long Island tracks at thisseason of the year Spectacular because of tin most wonderful Liberty Loan drive held anywhere Beginning with a modest quota of 300IN 0 which was reached the second day each succeeding day saw the amount soar upward until the million mark was reached and passed the grand total being over a million and a half No greater and more enduring monument to the patriotism and liberality of the American turf could be conceived or erected The racing at Jamaica be ¬ gan September 30 and came to an end October 12 embracing twelve racing days during which time seventytwo races were decided and 08084 distributed in stakes and purses The daily average distri ¬ bution amounted to 5573 The daily attendance was of generous proportions and the biggest crowd of the fall season witnessed the sport on the closing day of the meeting A K Macombprs horses accounted for seven races and 9731 placing the California turfman at the head of the winning owners of which
