Won driving; second and third the same. LIOLA, off forwardly, forced the early pace, but tired after passing COL. MURPHY and barely r lasted to win. CLARABELLA was wearing the winner down at the finish and would have won in a few more strides. COL. MURPHY showed the most early speed, but tired in the stretch drive. GAIN DE 3 CAUSE finished fast. Won driving; second and third the e same. FORT BLISS carried his weight well and, setting a fast pace all the way, outstayed TORCH-BEARER - in a close finish. TORCHBEARER swerved in behind the leader a couple of times at the head of the stretch, but finished fast and gamely through the last fifty yards. HAUBERK gained steadily and j was going fastest at the finish. SMART MONEY was pulled up at the start. THE DECISION ran a fast half and quit. MAD HATTER was under restraint for the first mile, but tired in the stretch drive. BONIFACE " ran a good mile and dropped back. EXTERMINATOR ran well for a half and quit badly.
