PLUTREL showed the most speed until in :hc last sixteenth, then tired. TRICKS began siowly, but gained steadily in the last quarter and fin-shed fast. Won driving; second and third tb same. TYCOON took the lead quickly and won all the way. but was tiring in the last sixteenth and driving hard to outstay OLD TOP. The latter was always in closest pursuit of the winner and rapidly overhauling him in the closing strides. VENNIE raced samely and always held the others safe. VAN PATRICK made a challenge midway of the btretch when he moved up on the inside, but tired in the last sixteenth. Scratched 61748 Silver Maid, 100. GALLANT GROOM began slowly, but came fast and gamely through the stretch and outfinished BROADVIEW. The latter was much used in racing BELJOY into defeat and was tiring at the end. IRISH JIG, suddenly improved, took the lead after rounding the far turn and drew away after entering the stretch, but was driving hard at the end to outstay AMERICAN BOY. The latter suffered from interference when CRACK O DAWN fell while approaching the first turn, but gained steadily in the stretch and, coming through on the inside, was rapidly overhauling the winner at the end. MADELINE LILLIAN cut across In front of CRACK O DAWN while going to the first turn, causing the latter to fall, then showed the most speed to the stretch and tired. COLONEL MATT raced well for seven-eighths, then seemed to tire and raced much below his true form. BILLS LUCK ran well. TULSA tired. BLOSSOM HOUSE was rushed into the lead after entering the backstretch and made a game finish. CLEAN GONE delayed making hi3 move a trifle too long, but finished fast and gamely through the last sixteenth. DISSOLUTE found the route too far.
