SANDWRACK, starting slowly and on the extreme outside from the start, began working his way up near the stretch, tired after overtaking FLAG BEARER, but lasted. KNIGHT COMMANDER also raced wide almost throughout, rallied to strong riding in the closing eighth and was wearing down the winner. FLAG BEARER showed speed, was steadied along for half a mile and drew away near the final eighth, but tired. FIDDLER held on well. BEAU JOLIE saved much ground, but tired under pressure. PIGEON HOLE raced wide throughout, but closed boldly and was gaining fast at the end. POT AU BROOMS, on the inside most of the way, moved up mildly on the stretch turn, then tired. ELIZABETH FOX, rank at the post, where she was placed on the outside, broke slowly, buf was inn mediately taken to the inside, began moving up after reaching the final three eighths and slipped through between the leaders when slosing with fine belated speed. EXCELLENCY was slow to get going and. far back the first seven eighths, was brought to the outside for the final quarter and closed stoutly. FINNIC had speed from the start, was much used racing SISTER ZOE into submission and faltered badly near the end. SISTER ZOE saved ground throughout and weakened after a mile. DIFFERENT, rated close to tha early pace, failed to rally when urged hard. KING PIN had early speed. SETHS BALLOT was through early. Corrected weight — Sister Zoe, 110. GAY BIRD, much the best and never far back, was under strong restraint the first seven eighths,! responded stoutly when called on and won drawing out. MAD CAREER had speed from the start, was cleverly rated and gamely shook off ESSARE, but could not withstand the winner. ESSARE, away in motion, was on the inside the first three-quarters, made a bid under strong pressure and, after coming ou in the stretch, then weakened. LION HEARTED began slowly and closed well on the extreme outside* TWISTED THREADS quit. BEAUTY SECRET gave way badly in the stretch. ALTO dwelt sliShtly at the •tart and was always far back.
