Illinois Notes LINCOLN FIELDS at Hawthorne* , Stickney, 111.. June 14. Jake Lowenstein is arriving at Washington Park Sunday with 11 horses. They are coming from Louisville. Acting for the S. and S. Stable. F. P. Haldy today bought Star Thorne from Mrs. Karl Mayer at private terms. Jockey F. A. Smith is due from Louisville and will get into action here Monday. Jockey Arthur Fischer also is coming from Churchill Downs but he will not resume riding until the meeting at Washington Park. W. E. Harned is getting away for Detroit with 16 horses belonging to W. H. Bishop. Ben Fogelson, who has several horses rac- | ing here, is a visitor. He came from his home in Lincoln. Nebr. Elmer Waltz today sent Sheriff Matt and Miss Bee W., to his farm at Elkhart, Ind. He also announced the purchase of Miss Bobby Sox from Frank Ryan. Augie Meyer got in from Fairmount Park with the horses Twinkle Eye and That a Lady. After seeing them bedded down Meyer departed for Omaha on a short busi-iness trip. William J. Shelley is ready to accept stable registrations for the meeting at Washington Park. Beginning next week he will be at Washington Park in the mornings and here at Hawthorne in the afternoons. J. L. Taylor departed for Detroit with the horses Cooling Spring, Begone and Lighl-foot Lady.
